Hey guys whats up! (SORRY, LONG READ)
So 2 months ago I injured my left knee squatting and found out I had partially fractured my patella and partially torn my quad, which left me unable to bend my leg at all,now I've recovered well. 4-5 years ago I injured my right knee doing squats which left me in pain for months which required surgery, with a very long recovery.
After I got an x-ray the doctor told me I had a condition called "bipartite patella" in both knees, in which there is two pieces of the patella, because as a child both the knees didn't fuse together normally as its suppose to, instead remained in two pieces. He said only 10-20% of the population develops this. The doc said people with bipartite patella are more likely to develop knee issues. The doc recommended I only do exercises like cycling to avoid further irritating the knee, which may require surgery, if injured again. Although leg extensions don't irritate the knee at all either and work the quads well.
EXAMPLE:

My question is since squats or any quad exercise is out of the question, besides cycling and leg extensions, how will this effect my other lifts, particularly the dead lift, or leg aesthetics wise? How much will not doing squats effect my progression on conventional dead lifts? Also, how much will my leg size be affected if i only stick to the listed exercise?
Thanks for your advice, sorry for the long post!
